Updates to PaintballPaintball has always been one of Rec Room’s most beloved RROs, and recently it has received a series of exciting updates. These changes are aimed at making every visit feel fresher, more engaging, and more rewarding to play again and again.
A New Home Base: The Paintball LobbyPaintball now has its own dedicated lobby. This space acts as a focused staging area where you can get ready before jumping into matches. It includes a target range for warming up your aim, gear lockers for customizing your weapon skins, and a 1v1 arena where you can settle rivalries with your friends.
Merry Midway: A Big New Chapter For PaintballMerry Midway is the first paintball map we’ve added in years! The nighttime fairground from Make It To Midnight has been reimagined into a dynamic paintball arena for team battles and capture the flag. At the center of this update is the Splat Hammer, the first-ever melee weapon in paintball. The hammer brings a close-range option into the game, creating tense moments around corners and giving bold players a new way to charge through defenses and turn the tide of a fight.Merry Midway is also the first paintball map to include bounce pads, which add more verticality to the gameplay and allows players to access new paths across the carnival grounds. To support the launch of the new map, we have also introduced a paintball battle pass, giving players a fun way to earn carnival-themed rewards as they accumulate XP across all of Paintball.
Mod Mondays: New Ways To PlayEvery Monday, Paintball gets a twist with Mod Mondays. On these days, you can purchase modifiers in paintball that change up the usual rules in fun and surprising ways. Right now there are three different mods that can be activated - alone or in combination:
- Wurms, which dramatically increases players’ speed while prone.Â
 - Low Gravity, which is… exactly what it sounds like.Â
 - Snipers Only, which replaces all the paintball guns on the map with snipers.Â
